Nomadic Pigmy Thoughts, 2013-2020

Following the indie magick that was Highly Evolved, I decided to tack out on my own with another blog focussed on non-traditional movie reviews. Short, sweet, and by no means to-the-point, Nomadic Pigmy Thoughts pays homage to Dr. Robert Miller’s infamous lyrics, directly observed in his Philosophy 101 Course at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

The Other Tribe, 2014

As part of RMIT University’s prestigious Honours programme, students are required to maintain a blog about their day-to-day experiences as researchers researching. The Other Tribe is in reference to Nomadic Pigmy Thoughts, which was conceived at around about the same time.

Highly Evolved, 2009-2011

In the lead-up, during, and following the Napster-Limewire-Magiska godsend that was the definitive indie music scene of the early noughties, creator and co-writer Michael Hodder conceived of Highly Evolved (his homage to The Vines) with a need to review the best new music. This is where young Alex cut his teeth writing and blogging, with notable shoutouts from The Mars Volta, The Bavarian Druglords, I Am Your Autopilot, and Rich Uncle Skeleton.
